Pioneer, Inspiration, Gamechanger | Rest In Power Virgil Abloh

Virgil Abloh. September 30, 1980 - November 29, 2021

We've never met Virgil Abloh but since the first day we immersed ourselves into the world of fashion, his name has been consistently linked with innovation and pushing the boundaries of what we used to know as the limits of fashion. His vision helped blur the lines between streetwear and luxury fashion and paved the way for brands such as our own.

Virgil passed on Sunday 28th November, having been privately battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer for 2 years. Although he lived a relatively short life the impact he had on the fashion industry is immeasurable.

Virgil was one of the first black men to hold the position of men's creative director at Louis Vuitton in 2018. To those close to him, Virgil Abloh was a great mentor and keen collaborator, creating some of the most iconic collaborative fashion collections to date.

One of Virgil's many legacies will be the "Post Modern" Scholarship fund which was founded in 2020 to help support and uplift black creatives looking to launch careers in fashion.

Virgil Abloh has work with, founded, inspired or collaborated with most of the major fashion houses and clothing brands to date. He was a visionary and will be sorely missed by the world of fashion and beyond.

Tributes have been pouring in across the world from brands such as Off White, Balmain, Louis Vuitton, Supreme, Stella McCartney, Palm Angels, BAPE, Fresh Ego Kid, Undefeated, Balenciaga, Tessuti, BBC Ice Cream, Stussy, KAWS, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Dior, Tom Ford, Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Maison Valentino, Dolce Gabbana, Versace, Givenchy and Fendi to name a few.

We have lost a truly irreplaceable artist and creative talent.

Rest In Power Virgil.
